#32: Pastoring with the Holy Spirit (with Adam & Amy Ryan)
“I don’t think God gives us an impartation just to hold onto it for ourselves, God gives us an impartation so we can impart it to other people and see their lives transformed.”
Pastoring a small, young church is hard work. Especially when you have young kids at home yourselves. I spoke with Adam & Amy Ryan, pastors of Catch The Fire Church in Kitchener, about their journey from adolescents struggling with depression and rejection to being a pastoral couple leading a vibrant Holy Spirit-oriented church together. We discussed identity, whose church it really is, and how to regain hope after seasons of hardship. Amy also shared about a chance encounter with Andrew Brunson, the American pastor recently released from prison in Turkey.

This week on The Puddcast we welcome Duncan & Kate Smith, the leaders of the Catch The Fire movement of churches. I’ve known Duncan & Kate for many years and I asked them to share what it means to encounter the Holy Spirit and have the Spirit revolutionize your life. We took our time to get there, building up a beautiful framework for knowing God has a loving Father and taking on the life of Jesus into our own lives. If you’ve ever wondered what the deal was with those crazy Charismatics, then have a listen to this and see if you too don’t catch an excitement for the experienceable presence and tangible love of God.
