The battle beneath the surface

When you choose to be faithful in something that is difficult, you are going to war.
When you stay when it would be easier to go, you are going to war.
When you turn up day-after-day, when you could simply not show up, you are going to war.
When you press in once again and squeeze that last ounce of creative energy out of your soul, when you could watch Netflix instead, you are going to war.

Faithfulness, perseverance, vulnerability, honesty, these are all acts of spiritual warfare.

If whatever you're doing right now feels like it's sucking the life out of you in a profound way, then I want you to consider that there is a battle raging beneath the surface. When you show up each and every day you are going to war and that's why it's so exhausting.

There is nothing wrong with you.
There is nothing wrong with you.
There is nothing wrong with you.

You're exhausted because of the battle.

This is what the LORD says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s.
— 2 Chronicles 20:15b

My encouragement to you is to keep going. That thing you do... keep doing it. The way you love those people... keep doing it. We need you to keep doing it. We need the unique output of your soul interacting with the world around it in God-breathed mission and purpose. The battle that is before you is important and will have far-reaching consequences. Please don't stop. I know it's hard, but we need you to keep going! God is with you. You are not alone. He will come through for you.

And if he comes three days too late, then he'll just raise you from the dead.

P.S. I feel this topic strong in my heart right now, and I'd like to pray for you specifically if I can. If this resonates with you then please holla at me so I can pray for you to keep going in whatever it is you're doing.
