I just finished listening through U2's latest offering: How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb.
First thoughts: Every track on this album is great!
Second thoughts: Except Vertigo... I don't really like Vertigo so much (ironically), but all the other tracks are brilliant.
According to Time magazine, The Edge is the real star of the album. According to Pudd, The Edge is the real star of the album. Bono's lyrics are good, and his singing is better (he could sing crap lyrics great), but the musical arrangement of the CD is even better.
Every song - it seems - has a section that stands out as being pure excellence. Unfortunately that also causes all the songs to sound almost too similar to each other, but it's not too bad.
Bottom line: 100 times better than the last one. Go into Musicworld at Woodbine and get it for 10.99$ including a DVD.
